Our history
- 2005 - Dakota W. Smith started installing Audio-Visual equipment for Mid-West AV, and worked throughout high school and college for this Av installer as a low level tech.
- 2012 - Dakota had the opportunity to install every projector, 145, in Joplin High School, after the entire school was gone after a tornado the year prior.
- 2013 - Dakota became full time at Mid-West AV
- 2104 - Dakota had the opportunity to install the new Fort Leavenworth Classroom Solutions for over 200 classrooms
- 2014 - Dakota surpassed over 1,000 projection installs
- 2015 - Dakota Became lead tech and assumed position of leading 3 -5 other support techs
- 2015 - Dakota had the chance to install over 350 classroom solutions for Park Hill School District
- 2016 - Dakota started DWS INSTALLS LLC, a minority owned company.
- 2016 - DWS received our first accepted bid on a 50 room collaboration solution, and 5 gymnasium AV presentation systems in Dodge City, Kansas Public Schools
- 2017 - DWS surpasses 1,000 projector installs in 1 year
- 2017 - DWS became a sub-contractor for KCAV
- 2017 - DWS installs does work in over 100 counties in Missouri
- 2017 - DWS employees 1 project manager, and 4 support techs
- 2018 - DWS became a sub-contractor for SKC and Zutek
- 2018 - DWS is OSHA certified in 10 hr, 30 hr, hazmat training
- 2018 - DWS becomes AVIXA partner
- 2019 - DWS became a sub-contractor for Kincaid Tech
- 2019 - DWS becomes certified Gold, Platinum, Bronze, Silver level Peerless Installer
- 2020 - DWS became a certified Dealer of RTI control systems
- 2020 - DWS starts a residential branch
- 2021 - DWS travels to Denver, Colorado for Kiewit International Headquarters
- 2021 - DWS travels to Cincinnati, Ohio for the new Children's Mercy Hospital NICU
- 2021 - DWS became a partner of Lees Summit Chambers of Commerce
- 2021 - DWS has 5 lead installers, 1 designer, 1 accounts manager, 1 human resources manager, 2 warehouse assistants
- 2021 - DWS is the lead sub-contracting AV installer in the Kansas-Missouri area
